Lola Loewenthal – Clinical PhD Student

I am a clinical research fellow and specialist trainee in respiratory medicine currently. My PhD focuses on the immunophenotyping of patients with severe asthma. Working in collaboration with the Royal Brompton Hospital I am recruiting patients with severe asthma to examine how their immune cells and clinical disease change with time and treatment.  My work particularly focuses on the concurrent changes and interactions of eosinophils, neutrophils and their subtypes using full spectrum flow cytometry.

I am also a founding committee member of the Integrated Respiratory Research Collaborative (INSPIRE) and have completed other national roles such as chair of the Specialist Trainee Advisory Group for the British Thoracic Society. I have previously completed a Master’s in Clinical Education (Institute of Education/UCL) and was a national Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow with the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
