Simone A. Walker – Senior Technician
I am a Senior Research Technician and have been with the Lloyd group since 2009. I obtained my BSc in Pharmacology at King’s College London. Following this I spent 4 years as a Post Graduate Researcher at The Institute of Cancer Research.
In my role as a Senior Research Technician, I help to plan, execute, and analyse in vivo models of lung diseases along with managing a specialist technical service measuring and analysing lung function parameters, in vivo, for members of the group, as well as for other internal and external collaborators. Additionally, I provide general technical support and lab management and deliver training and inductions programs for students and new starters.
Alongside my research and technical roles, I am actively involved in several professional roles. I sit on the National Heart and Lung Institute’s People and Culture Committee and the Imperial College Race Equality Charter Self-Assessment Team.
