\"\"Anne-Marie Levins – PhD student<\/h4>

I am a 3rd<\/sup> year PhD student supervised by Prof. Cecilia Johansson and co-supervised by Prof. Clare Lloyd. My project is funded by the National Heart and Lung Institute Foundation Scholarship. My research focuses on studying the influence of age on initial responsiveness to allergen challenge, and the relationship between these initial innate responses and subsequent asthma development. Further, I am investigating the innate signalling pathways that are activated in initial allergen challenge, and the importance of these pathways on the phenotype of asthma as it develops. I have been serving on the NHLI PGR student committee for the last 2 years, as well as supporting the St. Mary\u2019s FACS lab as a flow cytometry assistant.<\/p>

I am Irish-Romanian and finished school in Italy, after which I moved to the UK to start my BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences at St. George\u2019s, University of London. This was followed by pursuit of a MSc Immunology at Imperial College London. Alongside completing my MSc, I worked full-time as a laboratory technician at the UK Biocentre processing COVID-19 samples for the NHS during the peak of the pandemic in 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
