Laura Yates – Research Manager<\/h4>

My role as research manager is to aid the management of Professor Lloyd’s research programme. I develop protocols and novel technologies to aid research output and provide support for current PhD students and Postdocs. I also co- supervise BSc and MSc students.<\/p>

I have a BSc in Genome Science and MSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Portsmouth. I worked as a Research Assistant for 1 year at MRC Harwell, where I went on to complete my PhD, awarded by the University of Oxford in 2011. My studies uncovered a novel role for the Planar cell polarity signalling pathway in normal branching morphogenesis of the developing lung and kidney.<\/p>

I relocated to Melbourne, Australia to conduct my postdoctoral studies in the Cell Cycle and Cancer Genetics Lab at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, before securing an Imperial College Junior Research Fellowship in 2013.<\/p>

As a JRF at Imperial College, I investigated how aberrant polarity impacts on adult lung disease with a particular interest in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and lung cancer.\u00a0In 2019 I joined Professor Lloyd’s team to investigate neuro-immune-stromal interactions in asthma.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
